best site i have ever used
ReplyDeleteSuperb blog!!!! I am searching this type of post a long time. Finally i have got it. Thanks for it...
ReplyDeleteI believe Churchhill Woods in Glen Ellyn Illinois was also used in the movie, along with a house in Glen Ellyn.
ReplyDeleteFor years people thought the house on Crescent was Cameron's house but it isn't. It just looks similar. I went to the house in Highland Park which is now empty, in poor shape and for sale.
DeleteJune 5, (1985) is FBDO DAY! The day that Ferris Bueller took off!
ReplyDeletelol that's my birthday (well, in 1989)
Deletethe movie was shot in the fall of 1985 but the game they attended was the June 5th no hitter, right? And Ferris says they're graduating in a couple of months (while at the beach), so it couldn't have been June. Confused! lol
Whatever dork
DeleteWater tower is obviously wrong (look at them) The exact water tower is in Winnetka, IL 3-4 blocks from my high school and can bee seen from Green Bay Rd.
ReplyDeleteno, this is / was indeed the northbrook water tower behind the library. i lived very close-by when "SAVE FERRIS" was painted on it.
DeleteNot sure how people can say they're the same, its not even close
DeleteWater tower is correct. It was repainted for the filming in Northbrook. My best friend at the time (junior high), was the one who's house was run through in the final chase. That was his Dad that actually yelled. It's on Butternut south of Techny Road. I was in gym class at Maple Jr. High during the set up for the scene where Sloan was picked up at GBN.
ReplyDeleteI was watching them film this scene next to the camera and they told you all to run to the end of the field "to be in the movie" but doing that actually removed you all from the shot and emptied the frame.
DeleteI'm not sure the parking garage location is correct, unless they have completely changed the area since filming (I went there over the weekend). A lot of those lots downtown are built the same and do look similar. If you look closely at the photo comparisons above there are many things in the background (buildings, slope of roads, train platform lay out including stairs, etc) that do not seem to match up. Could be wrong....
ReplyDeleteIt's correct. It is shot on a long lens, which always throws matching from a simple camera lens off. The 2 round turrets you see in the movie are waaaaaay down the street, adjacent to the river. Go down the street on Google street maps - you'll see them.
DeleteI like 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' on the movie. It was totally awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteThis movie was a huge success in Brazil in the mid-1980s.
ReplyDelete2067 Butternut Lane was my best friend's house at the time. Got to watch that scene get filmed, and it was the actual homeowners in the house yelling at Ferris.
ReplyDeleteThe Trading Floor in the film is the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the CME, because 1) it is and 2) the trading jackets. CME trading jacket color denote your job. CBOT trading jackets were anything and everything. Old CME (not the new CME Group): 20 South Wacker Drive
