    1. According to Bill Hudgins, the location manager for Groundhog Day, the only shooting for the movie that happened in PA is the ariel shots over Pittsburg. He mentioned Ridge Rd in Bull Valley where they shot some driving scene so that may be what you are referring to. There was also shooting in Algonquin with the Punxsutawney sign as mentioned by others here.

    2. I was just watching the movie again and I think you are talking about the scene when the opening credits are rolling. That aerial shot is of Scenery Hill in PA. Must have slipped Bill's mind. If you go to 4:28 into the movie there is a red brick house with a detached garage in the back. The address of that house is 2182 E National Pike, Scenery Hill, PA. Looks like they added a balcony above the entrance way since the movie was filmed. You can see the house and street using Google Maps.

  5. Regarding the Punxsutawney Sign scene, that sign was set up and taken down in less than two hours! I got to see it being set up on my way to a haircut appointment, and planned to stop and take pictures on the way home, but it was completely gone without a trace by then.

    1. I asked that before, seems like nobody knows, I don’t know why the site owner never mentioned the location. I looked for this street/town for years. ramis said in the commentary it’s the actual street to the real Punxsutawney but I’ve been there and checked google maps but couldn’t find anything, it’s a big miracle.

  10. We went on the walking tour in Woodstock this year on Groundhog Day and the tour was led by Bill Hudgins who was the location manager for the movie. He mentioned the filming locations that were not on the walking tour. The hospital scene where he took the old man is Martha Washington Hospital in Chicago, the doctor's office (scene with Harold Ramis) and the psychiatrist's office were both shot in the mayor of Woodstock's office. The tree where the kid fell out of was next to the piano teacher's house, but the tree is no longer there.

  11. The Hessberger restaurant at 4300 N Lincoln Ave in Chicago was the scene where Bill Murray saved the mayor from choking. That restaurant is now a Mexican restaurant.

  12. I thought of one more that was mentioned on the tour which is the studio scene where Bill Murry is doing the weather with Andie MacDowell is goofing around with the blue screen. That was shot at WGN studios in Chicago.
