  1. The lunch room scene (actually filmed in the library), hallway scenes and auditorium scenes were filmed at Arlington high school in Arlington Heights IL. The school is now closed but is still standing. I was an extra in the movie.

  2. The above location of the concert is at the Wallace Bowl in Gilson Park, Wilmette IL. I've been choreographing for the musicals there for the past 15 years. And yes the manhole is still there!

    1. The Glen Theater is still there. It is a classic center of a small town theater with just one or two theaters. The basement of the theater actually used to be a bowling alley. It is right across the street from the train tracks near where they also filmed some scenes. Glenbard West is also the setting for the book "The Girl Who Owned a City" and is commonly referred to as "The Castle on the Hill".

  6. The Pep Rally Gym scene was filmed at Christian Liberty Academy (Formerly Arlington High School) in Arlington Heights. At the time of it being Arlington High School the gym was called the Grace Gym. Can't say what Christian Liberty Academy is calling it now. In addition there was a scene filmed in the foyer of the Gym.

  7. The scene in the foyer of the gym of Arlington HS (now Christian Liberty) was the "first day of school" scene when Lucas was fighting through the crowd, jumping up and down to look for Maggie. (I was an extra in all the scenes filmed at AHS).

    1. I went to Glenbard west, so did my sisters one of which was an extra in the movie. The pep rally is neither of West's gyms (the old girls gym is now the library) the first school scene where the principal is trying to talk, and lunchroom scene's are not at west. I believe it even says in the credits Arlington High School. You can also tell by the scene in the principal's office and the lunchroom scene that the windows are not of glenbard West. Not everything is As It Seems. After they put the hot stuff on Lucas's junk supposedly in the locker room they open the doors and put him outside. Those doors work at the time the auto shop. There was also never a water fountain by the football field for him to sit on. He was originally supposed to jump into the lake but at the time it was deemed too polluted.
