ReplyDeleteThe 303 Douglas location (in the first shot) is in Waukegan. It was my Grandmothers house. Coincidentally, the Parkway restaurant, where other scenes were shot, was owned by my Grandfather and family for over 50 years.
DeleteAside from being a great movie, I always get a kick out of my families ties to it.
Awesome job Patrick. I worked on these sets and I don't even remember them all. 00:26 the 303 location is believe was in Waukegan not far from North Ave. It is 303 west something. Check street view possibly Douglas.
ReplyDeleteThank you Brian for giving me the info to locate the 303 house as yes it was Douglas!!!
ReplyDeleteDown the road from my grandmas house Douglas ave has some beautiful homes
DeleteThe photo of the "Tease-O-Rama is really a liquor store located on the NW corner of Grand and Butrick in Waukegan.
ReplyDeleteHi Jim it turns out that was incorrect. Someone else pointed out to me that it was in North Chicago. I really agreed with you until I saw the other building and for sure that one is it.
DeleteThe Brass Candle restaurant (at least the interior shots) was apparently the Parkway Restaurant on Belvidere Road in Waukegan, not far from where the car spinning scene was filmed. Like the Mathon's restaurant, both were closed down at the time and then torn down after the filming.
ReplyDeletethe tease o rama was the anchor lounge in north chicago and has been torn down. the citgo was a mile north of their and is still their. the velvet touch was on washington and lewis and was torn down after filming.the gargage are is a condo complex across from abbott park on waukegan rd (rt 43)
ReplyDeleteHi Duane thank you for the info. I still believe the gas station is in Carpentersville but the other two are spot on. too bad each of them are now torn down. I was not sure what you meant on the end of the paragraph.
DeleteThat's my farm, or property on RT 72
ReplyDeleteThe beginning and end of the movie is north of marengo by my house, the farm Is not in Rt 72. I watched them film by my house each they for a week in the spring, all the snow was fake and made with ice.
ReplyDeleteThe interior of one bar or restaurant was a set built inside a warehouse located in Northbrook, Illinois. I'll investigate which specific scene, but I got a peak through fencing while they filmed.
ReplyDeleteThe fake pond was actually created inside a large warehouse on Commercial Avenue in Northbrook
ReplyDeleteNothing more to say then, Awesome job to all of you !!!
