ReplyDelete'Outside the restaurant' looks like Pico Blvd in Long Beach harbor, near Berth 55
ReplyDeleteYou're onto something if you meant Pico Avenue. The Queens Wharf restaurant looks like about the right area (but not same building) with rail trains and loading cranes right across the street (except the movie scene shows an elevated rail). I checked Google Maps aerial view for buildings along this stretch with a 45-degree corner but don't see either that or an elevated portion of the rail line.
DeleteThanks for posting these. I have loved this movie for years, and it was fun to look up the sites. Amazing how it has all changed so much in 25 years.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know the particular lookout in the final scene overlooking the Grand Canyon?
ReplyDeleteThere's some camera magic done here. It's 2 locations put into one lookout. I was there and it didn't match the film.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to watch my dvd again one of these days. This is one of the most magical films I have seen . I still follow Kevin Kline and admire his work. I would love to see all the people involved in this movie do something together again. The writing in this film is so good... I often remember lines from this movie to this day.
