Thank you! Loved it.
ReplyDeleteChas,
ReplyDeleteWent exploring yesterday armed with your information. Found the Riggs house. The actual address is 701 East, 700 North. Looks much like it did in the movie, except a huge modern home has been built behind the red barn. Do you know if the interior scenes were shot in this house or elsewhere? Also visited the Maple Lane Mall in LaPorte. I live in Plymouth IN and are within an easy drive of Three Oaks, New Carlisle, and LaPorte. Fun stuff. Thanks.
This mall has turned out to be pretty run down probably will end up being demolished the remaining Kmart store is set to close in March 2017 pretty sad how it has gone down hill Wal Mart pretty much took care of that I've lived in laporte my whole life and remember how exciting it was seeing the stars around town during that time I actually had a part time job as security for there soundstage in Pinola good memories they had a big thing at the civic for the actors my aunt was GA GA over Sam Elliot lol
DeleteEnjoyed your site. Always loved the scenery in this movie.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely looks and has the feel of Indiana in the winter.
ReplyDeletePrancer is one of the classics in our house, and this year we are going to make the rounds to as many of the filming sites as we can. No matter how much time goes by, this little story warms the heart over and over because its so real!
ReplyDeleteThe Wetherby residence is 17768 Pardee Rd. Galien, Michigan. It is a private residence.
ReplyDeleteHi Don, thank you for the location. If you would like me to credit you for the find let me know and if so what do you want me to put? Thanks again.
DeleteThere is a home in three oaks michigan you can rent for vacations . It is owned by the director of Prancer. We can see the church from the movie from our front porch :)
ReplyDeleteI still have the Bible that was used in the church scene.
ReplyDeleteThat is cool

ReplyDeleteMy dad, Ronald Ehrick was in the movie. I was missing him terribly this morning and decided to google the movie. We miss him terribly and all the fabulous things he did in LaPorte at the Little Theatre Club. Thanks so much for sharing all this. Warms my heart!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Sorry that you are sad.
DeleteI'm from Niles Michigan and so proud to be a neighbor to this classic movie. Missing my parents as well...God Bless

ReplyDeleteIF you are ever in Three Oaks, be sure to visit Drier's Meat Market - Best dogs, brats and of course "baloney"! My dad's family grew up there (my dad's home town) and the Hamilton family has shopped there for almost a hundred years total. Say hi to Caroline !
